Ms. Houk is CEO of Information Systems Solutions, Inc. (ISS). In 2005 ISS was restructured and Ms. Houk was selected to lead the company into the future. Since her arrival, the company has experienced steady growth,and has been identified for six consecutive years by Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest growing privately held companies. She is recognized by the Montgomery County (MD) Chamber of Commerce as their 2011 Small Business Leader of the Year.
Prior to joining ISS, Ms. Houk served 21 years as an Air Force officer where, as part of her accomplishments she oversaw multiple contractors and organizations and coordinated with managers of other projects/programs and high-level Air Force decision makers, including the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Air Force. Ms. Houk also served on the Air Force Program Review Committee, which reviews the Air Force budget submissions and establishes the annual Air Force Program Objective Memorandum (POM). Ms. Houk is a graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology, with a Masters of Science in Systems Management, and she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Miami University. Ms. Houk received numerous Air Force Decorations, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Robert L Buran was one of the original founders of Information Systems Solutions, Inc. (ISS) in September 1997 and has served since its inception as the President, Chief Financial Officer and the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Buran is a retired Air Force officer with over 40 years of business management experience, who spent twenty years in the intelligence community supporting various Air Force organizations as well as our major intelligence agencies. During his career with the Air Force he performed as Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative for fifteen years. Upon retirement from the US Air Force, Mr. Buran went to work for Vector Data Systems as a Project Engineer where he worked his way up to the position of Vice President of Finance and was serving in this position when Vector Data Systems (VDS) was purchased by Anteon Corporation. After leading the financial transition of VDS to Anteon, Mr. Buran decided to start his own company, Information Systems Solutions, Inc. He is now using this management experience and knowledge of contracting and finance to lead the company’s efforts to provide high quality support to various Government and Intelligence agencies.
Mr. Bowser is a vice president for Information Systems Solutions, Inc. (ISS). Mr. Bowser is a founding member of the company and began his career as a senior software developer supporting the medical insurance industry and the DoD. Mr. Bowser has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within ISS to include chief engineer and program manager before becoming vice president in 2005. Additonally, he has provided oversight of ISS's programs with personnel distributed thoughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining ISS, Mr. Bowser served as a systems engineer for SAIC where he supported the advanced research programs for then state-of-the-art second generation cellular communications. During the early 1990s Mr. Bowser served as software engineer for Vector Data Systems supporting intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance activities for airborne platforms. Mr. Bowser is a graduate of George Mason University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering.
